Hit mobile game Monopoly Go! has announced a new Halloween-themed collaboration with KPop Demon Hunters.

More than 10million people log into the free-to-play mobile title every day where the goal, just like in the classic board game, is to earn as much money as possible. Tomorrow (September 23) Monopoly Go! launches its new ‘Monster Mash’ season with collaborations with KPop Demon Hunters and Ghostbusters.

Throughout the season, players (AKA Tycoons) will step into the world of KPop Demon Hunters through “dynamic mini-games and immersive adventures featuring HUNTR/X, the Saja Boys, and their epic journey through Seoul and the Underworld”. HUNTR/X’s hit songs ‘Golden’ and ‘How It’s Done’ will also be added to the game’s soundtrack.

Monopoly Go will also be adding Blocks Boutique, a KPop Demon Hunters-inspired shop packed full of digital collectables and a live HUNTR/X concert experience full of hidden treasures to uncover.

Meanwhile, Ghostbusters fans can take part in a racing minigame, team up with friends to bring Ghostbusters-themed attractions to life and explore the iconic Firehouse armed with a Proton Blaster to help you uncover rewards.

“The season of thrills and chills is all about getting together with friends, sharing a little mischief and embracing the unexpected,” said Monopoly Go boss Victor Diaz-Roig. “Our teams at Scopely approached the ‘Monster Mash’ season with incredible care, designing every part of the experience with our Tycoons in mind, from bringing the characters and stories of KPop Demon Hunters and Ghostbusters to life in Monopoly Go to creating brand-new ways to play that friends can enjoy together.”

The ‘Monster Mash’ season runs between September 23 and November 25 and follows a The Simpsons-themed takeover of the mobile game.

Speaking to NME recently, The Simpsons boss Matt Selman said the collab allowed the game to seem more silly, and “reminded people” that the long-running show is still on. “The whole video game industry seems like it’s in trouble at the moment, so to spend three years trying to do a console [Simpsons] game and then finding out that was a bad idea, no one wants to do that,” he continued “I like it when someone else does most of the work like [Monopoly Go! creators] Scopely, so if anyone’s interested…”
