To celebrate the upcoming The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remake, iam8bit are reissuing an orchestral take on the original soundtrack.

‘Hero Of Time’ was originally released in 2017 to celebrate 20 years of video game merch company iam8bit. The vinyl features an hour of orchestral music inspired by Koji Kondo’s “dynamic, epic and absolutely gorgeous score” to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, performed live by the 64-piece Slovak National Symphony Orchestra.

The original pressing of ‘Hero Of Time’ has been out of print for years but iam8bit are reissuing the vinyl in honour of The Legend Of Zelda’s 40th anniversary.

The 22 tracks have been pressed onto translucent “Link Green and Zelda Violet” vinyl and the reissue also comes with artwork created by Ryan Brinkerhoff, which is “full of subtle visual detail and interactive pieces, including a die-cut Ocarina window on the jacket’s front, a majestic gatefold featuring both Light or Dark sides, and, of course – the finishing crescendo of a shimmering, gold foil-stamped triforce on the back.” The anniversary edition of ‘Hero Of Time’ also comes with an all-new Obi Strip.

‘Hero Of Time 2xLP Reissue (Music from The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time) Anniversary Edition’ is available to pre-order now and will start shipping later this month. Check it out here.

You can also get the retail “Navi Blue” edition alongside special-edition Light In The Attic and Materia Collective variants.

As part of The Legend Of Zelda’s 40th anniversary, Nintendo has remade the iconic Nintendo 64 title Ocarina Of Time. The “reborn” version of the beloved game is set to launch November 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo has also confirmed a world orchestral tour celebrating the music of The Legend Of Zelda. The run of shows will begin at Tokyo’s Garden Theatre in January before heading to Europe, North America and Australia. More shows have already been added due to demand, with more on the way.

To give fans a taste of what they can expect from The Legend Of Zelda 40th anniversary concert tour, Nintendo has shared a live performance video of the specially-created ‘Triforce Medley’.

Next year will also see the release of The Legend Of Zelda movie, which stars Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda  and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. According to Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto, the film tells an “original story” inspired by the past 40 years of games and lives up to the series’ legacy.
