Brad Pitt is back as Cliff Booth in the first full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth – watch it below.
The upcoming Netflix film sees Pitt reprise his Oscar-winning role from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, although this time David Fincher is behind the camera, working from a screenplay written by Tarantino.
Set in 1977, eight years after the events of the original movie, the new film finds Cliff in a markedly different Hollywood.
“Murder, blackmail, theft, extortion – just another summer in Hollywood,” reads the official synopsis.
After previously working as the stunt double and general right-hand man to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton, Cliff is now earning money as a bartender and projectionist while also working as an unofficial Hollywood fixer, using his “occasionally extralegal” talents to resolve problems for people in the industry.
The trailer sees talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki, approach Cliff on behalf of her client Charlie Peters (Scott Caan), a successful television actor known for performing his own stunts.
Asked why he is no longer doubling for Rick, Cliff responds: “Rick got too fat for me to double him anymore.”
Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth, only this time it’s 1977 and it’s a very different Hollywood.

The footage also introduces Carla Gugino as Charlie’s wife Toni and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as professional football champion-turned-actor Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison. Meanwhile, Matt Groove and JB Tadena play the Verdusco brothers, described by Netflix as mysterious gangsters who are “causing mayhem across the city”.
The new footage follows a brief ’70s grindhouse-inspired teaser that debuted during the Super Bowl in February. The project was previously being referred to as The Adventures Of Cliff Booth, before the title The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth was confirmed.
The film also reunites Pitt and Fincher for the first time since 2008’s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. The pair previously worked together on Se7en and Fight Club.
Explaining last year why Tarantino was not directing the film, Pitt said: “This is something Quentin Tarantino wrote. It’s an episode, not really a sequel, of the character from Once Upon A Time. He didn’t want to direct it at this point, so our friend David Fincher stepped in.”
Tarantino has also explained his decision to hand the project over to Fincher, saying: “I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors.
“So the idea that David Fincher actually wants to adapt my work, to me, shows a level of seriousness towards my work that I think needs to be taken into account.”
Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for playing Cliff in the original film, which also starred DiCaprio and Margot Robbie and offered an alternative version of the events surrounding the Manson Family murders in 1969.
NME awarded Once Upon A Time In Hollywood five stars, describing it as Tarantino’s “most well-rounded and satisfying work” in decades and praising the chemistry between Pitt and DiCaprio.
Tarantino is also continuing Cliff Booth’s story in print. Earlier this month, he announced the forthcoming novel The Adventures Of Cliff Booth, following his previous novelisation of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth will receive an exclusive two-week global IMAX run beginning on November 25, before arriving on Netflix on December 23.
